Hege Hermansen is a Professor of Education at the Centre for the Study of Professions at Oslo Metropolitan University. 

Her research interests include knowledge practices in professional education and work, program design and development of professional education programs, juridification of higher education, academic fredom, and the interrelationships between professional knowledge, autonomy and responsibility.

Hermansen teaches within the fields of theories of the professions, teaching and learning in higher education, teacher education, research supervision, and PhD courses on education. 

Hermansen is an editorial board member of Professions and Professionalism.
